PYSO recently heard from Gabrielle Faetini (Violin 2011 to 2014) who has been very active in the Pittsburgh area as a freelance musician.

After graduating with a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Violin Performance from Duquesne University, she has continued to expand her career in music. Currently, she is an orchestral musician and educator throughout Pittsburgh and West Virginia.

In 2019 she won a position with the Pittsburgh Opera Orchestra and continues to perform with orchestras including the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre Orchestra, Erie Philharmonic, Wheeling Symphony Orchestra, and Chamber Orchestra Pittsburgh.

Gabrielle has been a violinist for the Sunflower Music Festival and Buzzard’s Bay Music Festival, and recently returned from the Berkshires where she has a position with the Berkshire Opera Festival. She also is a violin teacher at The Ellis School and runs her own private studio, and is the newest member of the Hot Metal Strings, an all-female quartet that performs for weddings and events throughout the Pittsburgh area.

Contemplating on how PYSO has made a difference in her life, Gabrelle writes, “Playing on stage at Heinz Hall is what made me realize I wanted to be performing on stage forever, and I have kept that love and drive since then”

Thank you Gabi – always wonderful to hear the exciting things PYSO Alumni are doing – #PYSOProud!
