For today’s High Notes we hear from Mei Hommes, a violinist who has been with PYSO for two seasons. Some of Mei’s recent musical accomplishments include being the concertmaster during her last year of TRYPO, and playing in the 2019-2020 PMEA Honors, District, and Regional Orchestras. If lockdown had not occurred due to COVID, Mei would have placed fifth in the PMEA States.

“Playing in orchestras has given me great experiences such as playing amazing music, being able to listen to how all the parts in the orchestra come together to create music, and to grow as a musician through teamwork. I have also gotten to meet great professional musicians and learn from their teachings. I have gotten to travel and perform in many different places. I plan to major in violin performance in college.”

Thank you, Mei!
