Congratulations to PYSO harpist Sophia Jho who is the winner of PYSO’s 2023-24 Concerto Competition! Sophia will perform Maurice Ravel’s Introduction and Allegro with the orchestra on our concert at Heinz Hall on Sunday, March 3, 2024.
We are also pleased to relay that Tadao Tomokiyo (piano) came in Second Place, and Albert Dong (cello) took Third Place. Honorable Mention goes to Karin Hoppo (violin) and Greta Coleman (viola).
Our Competition panelists this year included PYSO Music Director Jacob Joyce, PYSO Executive Director Bill Powers, PSO Oboist Max Blair, and cellist Angela Park.
