This Friday, March 5, Amanda Kengor (harp) and Katie Liu (piano), PYSO’s 2020 Concerto Competition winners’ will be featured on WQED Radio at 7 PM in their Performance in Pittsburgh Series! Last May Amanda and Katie were all set to perform at Heinz Hall in PYSO’s 2020 spring concert, which, unfortunately, was canceled due to the pandemic.

The segment will feature Amanda and Katie sharing their experiences of being part of PYSO, their musical background, and their experiences relating to the pandemic. Amanda’s repertoire will include selections by Nino Rota, Watkins, Tournier, and J.S. Bach, and Katie’s will include selections of Chopin, as well as Kapustin, Mozart, and Bach.

PYSO Music Director Earl Lee will also be featured, to and will talk about the structure of the competition, and his experience working with Amanda and Katie.

The pandemic has changed a lot of plans for everyone, but one thing remains a constant: the dedication and artistry of these two musicians. Be sure to tune in to 89.3 on Friday, March 5th at 7pm to hear for yourself.
