Dana Ferry has painted violins for two previous PYSO international tour fundraisers; The first in 2008 for the China Tour, and the second for the Central & Eastern European Tour in 2014. She graciously agreed to paint a violin for the PYSO Portugal Tour fundraiser and enjoyed the research of the Portuguese culture in preparation for the painting. Her painting is of the Barcelos Rooster, otherwise known as the Portuguese Rooster and is thought to be the embodiment of the Portuguese love of live.  In her spare time, Dana paints on roofing slates and barnwood, in addition to watercolor painting.
