On Sunday evening, the members of PYSO met for the first rehearsal of the 2021-2022 season. In addition to being the first of the season, this rehearsal marked the first time in over a year that PYSO was able to come together as a full orchestra to rehearse.

We are beyond thrilled to be able to see (and hear!) everyone in person again. This season is bound to be special, as we are all so excited to be together doing what we do best, creating beautiful music.

PYSO is extremely fortunate to have former PYSO Music Director Daniel Meyer on the podium this fall, while we undergo a search for our new Music Director.   Many thanks to Maestro Meyer for such a wonderful rehearsal and bringing his talents and guidance back to PYSO!

Save this date: November 13, 2021 when PYSO returns to the Heinz Hall stage to perform David Stock’s Drive Time, Stravinsky’s Firebird Suite (1919), Brahms Academic Festival Overture, and selections from Bizet’s L’Arlésienne Suites 1 & 2, including the “Farandole” which PYSO performed on it’s very first concert and will perform again as an homage to our 75th anniversary.

The PYSO team is looking forward to working with such a great group of young musicians, and will see everyone next week, on the Heinz Hall stage!
